Donald Trump: ``You're Fired' Was A Fluke'
Donald: Catchphrase was a fluke
Wednesday, March 3, 2010 17:14 GMT
NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) Donald Trumps menacing boardroom catchphrase, Youre fired, actually came about on accident. The Donald admits his signature line was just something he said without thinking on the very first episode of The Apprentice.
He explains, It was a big fluke. I was exasperated with a contestant and I just told them, You know what? Youre fired.
Before his simple saying stuck and America went crazy for it, Trump thought dismissing contestants from his show with something like get the hell out of here.
Since the lucky fluke, the mega mogul continues to be floored by the popularity of those two little words.
Though mean works well with viewers, Trump doesnt always enjoy firing people.
He felt really bad about firing Olympic figure skater Scott Hamilton last year on his show and says giving the axe is only fun if he truly doesnt like someone.
Season three of The Celebrity Apprentice premieres March 14 on NBC.
