Man Sparks ‘Marijuan-Art’

PITTSBURGH (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – One artist was gonna create mosaics – but then he got high.

Ever try to draw a picture of Jim Morrison – on weed? Tattoo artist Cliff Maynard has, using the stubs of his leftover joints to create “Chronic Art.”

Maynard arranges roaches into intricate mosaics that feature famed stoners like Snoop Dogg, Bob Marley, and even Jesus Christ.

Each piece takes about 70 hours of crafting, with a few smoke breaks sprinkled in to keep the creativity flowing.

The artist says his love of art, and of course “the chronic,” helped him develop his artistic style, especially after taking a class in mosaics and realizing his joint butts would serve just as well as tiles.

Maynard admits he gets high on his own supply on a daily basis in order to collect enough roach papers to make a portrait.

However, he never smokes the finished product since it’s covered in school glue.
