Today (Nov. 30) Is ‘Hug An Asian Day’

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Today (Nov. 30), grab an Asian and love them long time.

It’s the first ever “National Hug An Asian Day,” and founder Tony Tarumoto hopes more than 100,000 people embrace the holiday – a modest goal considering there are billions of Asians on Earth.

Tarumoto created the day because there’s far too much hate in the world.

He’s been getting tons of positive feedback and says the biggest question from participating non-Asians is proper Asian hugging etiquette.

He says everyone has their own style of hugging, so there’s not a right or wrong way to embrace an Asian.

Still, he notes that giving smaller people bear hugs “might crush them.” The best hugs don’t hurt, “show a lot of emotion,” and last approximately three to five seconds.

Although this particular day focuses on squeezing Asians, Tarumoto hopes to start other hug days and spread the love.
