Today (Oct. 13), the Star Trek legend and his hubby will be on GSN’s The Newlywed Game as the first same- sex couple in the show’s history.
Though they’ve only been married a year, they’ve been partners for decades so they know plenty about each other.
Takei says Altman is the “fussy” one their relationship who remembers every detail and anniversary, while he’s more easy-going.
This balance helped during the game and Takei calmed his hubby whenever he got nervous over personal questions.
Takei says Altman is “very proper,” so classic Newlywed trivia about their love life had him “shivering.” He, however, seldom gets embarrassed.
No matter which questions they got right or wrong, Takei says neither ended up angry or sleeping on the couch after playing.
In fact, they only time they ever really bicker is when Takei tells Altman how to drive.
