Maria Yoon, or Maria the Korean Bride, has been married 35 times to things and people like the Mississippi River, a Black Angus cow in Nebraska, and a drag queen Diana Ross in a Las Vegas Chapel, each time donning traditional Korean wedding garb.
Through her cross-country matrimony tour, Yoon looks to challenge and explore the meaning of marriage and also re-hash the pressure she has endured as a first generation Korean who is expected to marry young and be a good housewife.
Yoon is about to get hitched again tomorrow (Aug. 21) in San Francisco to a surfer lady in a mock ceremony, since gay marriage isnt legal in California, and plans to take wedding pictures in City Hall to get her message across.
She has filmed all her weddings and plans on eventually making a full-length documentary.
