Emma Watson Related To Real Witch

PROVO, Utah (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Harry Potter starlet Emma Watson has a bewitching past – she’s related to an actual witch.

Researchers at Ancestry.com have discovered that Watson – who plays witch Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise – is a distant relative of Joan Playle, a woman accused and convicted of witchcraft in 1592.

Though not much is known about Playle’s conviction, genealogist Anastasia Tyler says records indicate that she was single, a target for being pegged as a witch back then.

Watson’s ancestor wasn’t executed, but was excommunicated from the Church of England for her alleged witch crimes.

Tyler says it’s the perfect twist that Watson’s past is riddled with witchcraft, and the actress should be proud of her unique lineage.

Watson’s family tree is the most “magical” of all the Harry Potter stars, who have more common muggle roots.

Daniel Radcliffe comes from a line of Irish bakers, plumbers, and grocers, while Rupert Grint’s ancestry includes gun smiths.
