Ugly Bridesmaids Dresses On Rise During Recession

HAZEL PARK, Mich. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The recession is yielding ugly consequences – especially for bridesmaids.

Due to the economic downturn, hideous bridesmaid dresses are on the rise this wedding season, since penny-pinching attendants may have to turn to outdated hand-me-downs and thrift stores for gowns.

Tom Nardone – creator of uglydress.com, a website featuring pictures of bridesmaids in ghastly gowns – vouches for the disastrous dress epidemic and says many bridesmaids are opting for cheap, tacky prom gowns this wedding season.

That means a lot of bedazzled, neon dresses in unflattering cuts will be strolling down the aisle.

Nardone expects ugly ’80s gowns to resurface in this recession and says some bridesmaids may attempt to make or dye their own dresses to cut costs.

If they do purchase from a bridal shop many will skimp on the pricey tailoring despite the hideous fit.

He figures the hardest workers at weddings this summer will be photographers, who’ll have the challenge of making their poorly dressed subjects look decent.
