Alain Robert has gained notoriety around the world as The French Spiderman for his death-defying climbs of huge buildings and skyscrapers, often while wearing an actual Spiderman costume.
Among the monstrous buildings hes climbed are the Sears Tower in Chicago, the Sydney Opera House, and the Eiffel Tower.
Though Robert suffers from vertigo and has been left 60 percent disabled from injuries, the 46-year-old doesnt plan on stopping.
However, he assures that hes merely a mortal with a special gift, and not an actual superhero like many of his fans believe.
He says, Spiderman is my nickname, but I have no supernatural powers. When I climb skyscrapers, theres no special effect. No safety net.
Robert has worked hard to become the best solo climber in the world, and he says it couldnt have been done without passion.
