Chicago Man’s Beard Built For Heavy Lifting

CHICAGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Some beards are built for warmth, others are built for heavy lifting.

Chicago-based beard enthusiast Eamon Daly is raising money for charity by using his three-and-a-half inch beard to lift objects, documenting his progress on thingsmybeardcanlift.com.

For every $100 someone donates to his cause, Daly adds another pound to his running tally until he gets to a 50-pound object, or $5,000.

Currently, he’s raised $1,570 by lifting objects like rollerskates and a Star Wars Millennium Falcon toy with his beard, but it’s more than just stuff that he’s lifting.

He says, “A friend of mine told me that the most important thing my beard can lift is people’s spirits, so I wanted to do this for charity to really do that.”

Daly is preparing for heavier lifts by doing neck exercises and admits, “50 pounds is a lot. I’m not gonna lie. I’m a little worried.”

He says people are itching to see him lift children with his beard and assures that he hasn’t ruled out the idea.
