The Museum of Broken Relationships is a traveling exhibit that features the strange objects people leave behind after splitting up.
The collection was started by a pair of Croatian exes who wanted to honor their dead relationship, and now the exhibit includes pieces from lost romances around the world.
Among the artifacts are furry handcuffs, love letters, underwear, an axe, and even a prosthetic leg donated by a man who fell in love with his physiotherapist.
Event coordinator Selene Foster says no matter how odd these mementos may seem, they prove that heartbreak is a universal feeling.
She explains, As much as the exhibit reminds you that a relationship can end, it also reminds us of the amount of love these people must have felt to give these things.
The Museum of Broken Relationships heads to San Franciscos Root Division Gallery February 14-28.
