Once You Go Black, Throw A Party

PHOENIX (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Though it may seem like a racy move, there’s nothing wrong with giving props to the first black president.

Party planner Sally Strebal, of, has a few tips on how to throw an at-home Barack Obama inauguration party that truly celebrates his historical win.

Strebal recommends pouring black and tan brews for guests, serving up the new prez’s favorite foods, and even dressing up like Obama, Michelle Obama, or the First Daughters at a shindig to commemorate Obama’s presidency.

She says, “You don’t want to offend anyone, but he is the first black president. Why not celebrate that? It’s kind of exciting.”

Strebal assures that if you’re “coming from a good place” you won’t look like a racist.

If you’re unsure of the response you’ll get, Strebal says you could always throw a Hawaiian blowout – since Hawaii is Obama’s birthplace – or have a Chicago-themed or Harvard-themed party to honor the 44th president’s roots.
