Pat Boone Stirs Up Christmas Ditties

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – No one ever sings about Rudolph’s girlfriend, fruitcake, or the 12 days after Christmas – except for legendary crooner Pat Boone.

The squeaky clean singer has just released The True Spirit of Christmas, an album featuring 21 all-new holiday tracks that Boone hopes will become the new Christmas classics.

Among the tracks – many penned by veteran TV producer Paul Alter – is a song about Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’s girlfriend, who, in Boone’s words, “Never got much play,” and a song about regifting fruitcake.

A ditty called “The 12 Days After Christmas” reflects on post-holiday clean-up, while “Man At Work” – which Boone says is “more of a rap song” – is about a dad assembling toys for his kids.

Boone says the jams are “funny and whimsical,” and although it’s “insane” to try to get people to change their Christmas music staples, he’s giving it a shot.

He says the unique songs will get festive folks thinking, especially a tune about Santa’s weight problem that Boone plans to eventually send to Jenny Craig.
