‘The Golden Girls’ Are Still In The Closet

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – To this day, The Golden Girls are still in the closet – Rue McClanahan’s closet, that is.

McClanahan – best known for playing wild, oversexed Blanche Devereaux on The Golden Girls – has a closet-full of original clothing from the show stashed away in her home.

During the seventh season of the sitcom, McClanahan worked out a deal that allowed her to keep all of Blanche’s stylish threads.

The result was hundreds of freebie outfits, so many that McClanahan couldn’t even take them all home.

She says, “My husband and I brought a pick-up truck to the studio and hauled away a load of Blanche’s clothes.”

The clothes are kept in mint condition in McClanahan’s “great big closet.”

She sometimes regrets not nabbing more of the duds, especially when she watches reruns of The Golden Girls.

She says, “My husband laughs at me, but I think, ‘Oh, why didn’t I take THAT outfit with me? It’s so cute!’”

McClanahan has an all new TV wardrobe to raid on her latest show, Sordid Lives: The Series, which airs Wednesdays on Logo.
