What Pets Really Think About Halloween Costumes

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Silly Halloween (Oct. 31) costumes are not a pet’s best friend.

Pet psychic Dr. Kim Ogden recently interviewed 150 cuddly canines and kitties by sending them mental images of what they look like in costume, asking them how they really feel about playing dress up.

According to Dr. Kim, felines and Fidos don’t mind sporting costumes, as long as it doesn’t cost them their dignity.

She says, “Dogs hate costumes that make fun of them. One dog who was in a devil costume asked, ‘Why am I wearing horns?’ and the owner said it was because he acted like a little devil. He did not like that.”

Like humans, pets prefer costumes that flatter.

Dr. Kim says, “Pets like outfits that compliment them, so telling your dog, ‘You’re so strong, I dressed you as a super dog,’ or ‘You’re so beautiful, I dressed you as a princess,’ will make them happier to dress up.”
