‘The Office’ Actor Gets Ready To Rock

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – The Office actor Rainn Wilson is ready to rock!

Wilson – who plays the hilariously awkward Dwight Schrute on The Office – is starring in a new comedy film called The Rocker, in which he plays a washed up drummer who tries to regain fame by joining his nephew’s high school rock band.

Wilson learned to play drums for the rockin’ role, but conquering the kit was a breeze since he’s already a musical master.

He explains, “I grew up playing piano, clarinet, guitar, sax, and the xylophone. I also played the baritone in pep band [in high school]. I basically learned to play every clown instrument I could find. Anything to get a laugh.”

And there’s one more musical instrument Wilson is particularly proud to be a pro at: The recorder.

Wilson says, “I learned to play the recorder for my role on The Office. Dwight likes to provide music around the office during trying times.”

The Rocker hits theaters this Wedneday (Aug. 20).
