Michael Gross Doesn’t Feel Sexy Enough For Soaps

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Actor Michael Gross doesn’t exactly consider himself a hot Hollywood hunk.

Gross – best known for his roles on Family Ties and Tremors – has just joined The Young and the Restless and was baffled when he got the part on the steamy soap.

He doesn’t think his image falls in line with the perfect looks of the daytime drama’s leading men and women.

Gross explains, “I’m not a huge follower of soaps, but I know what the cast members typically look like. They’re these perfectly chiseled men and beautiful women with not a hair out of place. I don’t look like them at all – I couldn’t be less of a soap star!”

Instead, he considers himself “ruggedly handsome” and fits in with “men in flannel shirts.”

He’s hoping to break the mold of what soap stars look like by playing a character who’s “in his own planet.”

Gross says the most challenging part of his gig is learning the scripts quickly enough and getting used to not performing in front of a live studio audience.

His first episode of The Young and the Restless airs this Friday (Aug. 15) on CBS.
