Comedian Contributes To ‘Downfall Of Civilization’

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Snarky comedian Michael Ian Black isn’t feeling too guilty about jumping on the reality TV bandwagon.

Black – best known for his role on Ed – is hosting Reality Bites Back, a parody competition that pits comedians against each other in absurd challenges, like fighting against crazy border patrol agents and attempting to become Olympic divers in 24 hours.

Black admits he finds reality shows “atrocious,” but going to the unscripted dark side isn’t hurting his conscious.

He says, “I’ve spent a lot of time in my career contributing to the downfall of civilization, so this isn’t going to do much to my soul. It’s already dead.”

Though all participants know this show mocks other reality challenges, Black says he can’t understand why people embarrass themselves just to be on TV, because, in his words, “As someone on TV, I can say it’s not that great.”

However, he’d change his mind if it meant appearing on Rock of Love, and winning Bret Michaels’ heart.

Reality Bites Back premieres tonight (Jul. 17) on Comedy Central.
