James Roday ‘Psychs’ Out His Little League Coach

VANCOUVER, B.C. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Psych star James Roday has always been good at psyching people out.

Roday plays a novice sleuth who tricks cops into thinking he has psychic powers on Psych, and coincidentally, he’s been a “schemer” himself since childhood.

As an only child, Roday says he was a “crafty kid” who was constantly scheming on “unsuspecting, earnest children and adults.”

He recalls a time when he tricked his little league coach into letting him pitch a play-off game by telling him that the real starting pitcher was sick and staying home.

He explains, “I got to the field 20 minutes before the game and my conned my way into the starting line-up. The other kid showed up later, perfectly healthy.”

Luckily, Roday was on his A-game. His coach let him pitch the entire game and they ended up winning.

He laughs, “It we hadn’t won, it would’ve been bad!”

Still, Roday assures he got in “a lot of trouble anyway” for his little curveball.

The third season of Psych premieres Friday (Jul. 18) on USA Network.
