Bruce Campbell Gets His Own ‘Burn Notice’

MIAMI (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Burn Notice actor Bruce Campbell knows all about being burned on the job.

Campbell – best known for his cult classic horror trilogy Evil Dead – stars on Burn Notice, a show about a covert spy who’s suddenly given a burn notice and fired from his job.

Campbell says he can relate to the show’s premise, since he too has been given the axe during high-profile projects.

In the mid-80s he was working with Oscar-winning filmmakers the Coen Brothers on a film called Crimewave, when he got the brush off.

He says, “I was supposed to play the lead in that film, but then word trickled down from the studio that they had changed their minds. That left a bitter taste in my mouth.”

Through his Hollywood burn notice Campbell says he learned to develop “thicker skin” for showbiz, and he’s fine with the Coen’s choice since it didn’t mean much in the long run.

He adds, “Nobody has even heard of that movie!”

Season two of Burn Notice premieres tonight (Jul. 10) on USA Network.
