Grylls host of the Discovery Channels wilderness survival show Man Vs. Wild says his sons, ages four and two, are already adventurous like their dad, which worries him a bit.
The other day Grylls caught his eldest son waist-deep in a stream, beating the water with a stick, trying to catch fish like Daddy.
He says, Half of it melted my heart and the other half scared me! I try to discourage my kids from being too wild like me. But they love the water and climbing things.
Although his boys have a general idea of what their daring dad does for a living, Grylls tries not to tell them too much about his crazy career.
He explains, I try to focus on the positive side of my job around them, not the dangers.
Grylls uses the same tight-lipped tactic on his wife when it comes to revealing the nasty things he eats in the wild to survive, like snakes, fish eyes, and animal carcass.
He laughs, If my wife knows what Im putting in my mouth out there, Ill never get a kiss again!
Man Vs. Wild airs Fridays on the Discovery Channel.
