Elvis Gets ‘Crappy’ Punk Rock Tribute

OXNARD, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Elvis’ music is “All Shook Up” thanks to one punk rock tribute band.

G.G. Elvis And The T.C.P. is a band of punk rockers influenced by both The King and shock rocker G.G. Allin, best known for his crazy antics like performing naked, peeing, and throwing poop on stage.

The tribute band takes Elvis’ classic jams, including “Viva Las Vegas” and “Blue Suede Shoes,” and turns them into punk rock mash-ups.

According to frontman Eric “G.G. Elvis” Lara, their music is for both punk and Elvis aficionados, although hardcore Elvis fans don’t always get it.

The bandmates – which include “Elvis of Nazareth,” “Elvis ’56,” and “Has-Been Elvis” – sport Elvis wigs and costumes on stage, and although their performances are a spectacle, they’re not quite as crappy as G.G. Allin’s shows.

Lara has been known to drop trou mid-song, but insists he’s never thrown poop at the audience.

Surprisingly, Lara believes Elvis would’ve loved their wacky band while G.G. Allin would’ve hated them.

Their debut album, Back From The Dead, hits stores today (Jun. 24).
