‘Project Runway’ Judge Makes Birth Control Fashionable

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Project Runway judge Nina Garcia wants to give boring birth control a hot, new look.

The fashion maven is a judge for the Yaz Step Up and Go Beyond contest, happening now until June 30, in which amateur designers create a new and improved look for birth control pill packs.

The winning designer will get a $5,000 fashion education grant.

Garcia says, “Birth control packs are very personal and connected to women, but have been ignored for a long time. They’re out there on your night stand or in your purse, so why not make them more chic and fashionable?”

According to Garcia, a stylish pill pack should be discreet and functional, and have a lot of creativity behind the design.

But no matter how fierce the packs look, they won’t be gracing fashion runways anytime soon.

Garcia says, “I don’t know about them ever being the new fashion accessory, but women will feel a little bit cooler about carrying their pill pack.”
