Ex ‘Idol’ Host Drops The Pounds, Could Fight Seacrest

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former American Idol host Brian Dunkleman is feeling like a lean, mean, fighting machine.

Dunkleman – who hosted the debut 2002 season of American Idol with Ryan Seacrest, and suddenly left the hit show to pursue an acting career – currently stars on Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp and says beating the battle of the bulge could possibly help him beat Seacrest.

He jokes, “After dealing with [Fit Club trainer] Harvey Walden, I think I can finally take on Seacrest. I’d challenge him in a cage match to the death. But Seacrest would probably hairspray me in the eye.”

During his Fit Club stint, Dunkleman’s goal was to get toned and trim for his wedding, which worked.

He says, “At my wedding people were noticing the difference and commenting that I looked buffer. It was the icing on the cake.”

These days he works hard to maintain his Fit Club physique, but admits he sometimes slips on his diet.

He explains, “After I got back from Fit Club I went a little out of control and ate a 33-ounce steak and donuts. I don’t even like donuts!”

Celebrity Fit Club: Boot Camp airs Sundays on VH1.
