Charlie Moore Trades Fishing Reel For Pee-Wee Gridiron

CHESTER, N.H. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It’s not always smooth sailing for one fast-talking fishing fanatic.

In The Mad Fisherman: Kick Some Bass with America’s Wildest TV Host (St. Martin’s Press), sports enthusiast Charlie Moore chronicles his rise to fishing fame as the celebrated host of Charlie Moore Outdoors on NESN, and the ESPN 2 show Beat Charlie Moore, where he takes guests out on the boat for candid, chummy conversation.

Moore has set sail with everyone from Chuck Woolery and Ted Nugent to hockey hero Bobby Orr, but when he drops anchor to coach his two sons’ football team, it’s not always smooth sailing for the animated angler.

Moore says, “We’re a pretty bada■■ team, but people want to beat the crap out of us because I’m coaching it! Referees always want to throw me out of the game.”

And while Moore surrounds himself with sports stars and celebrities, his kids aren’t awed by their father’s famous friends.

Moore says, “My kids are oblivious of the show. They meet the celebrities, but they’re really grounded.”

The Mad Fisherman, co-authored by Charles Salzberg, comes out April 1.
