Trace Adkins Keeps His Cool During ‘Celebrity’ Crossfire

NASHVILLE (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Trace Adkins is using his cool country roots to stay out of the crossfire on The Celebrity Apprentice.

While catty contestants Omarosa and Piers Morgan battle in the boardroom, Adkins – best known for his hit “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk” – has avoided the business of bickering.

Adkins says, “Instead of wigging out, I stay calm and rational, and avoid getting caught in that crossfire.”

Adkins managed to stay sane even when Morgan tried his tricks on his business buddies.

He says, “I almost stepped in when Piers was going off on Stephen [Baldwin] and Vinnie [Pastore]. I felt like I needed to be a referee, so I suggested Piers lighten up a little. But they edited it out [of the show].”

And when Piers switched his trash-talking from Omarosa to Adkins, the self-professed “silent but violent” singer lent a helping hand to the situation.

Adkins says, “I had to swat him away like a fly.”

Celebrity Apprentice airs Thursdays on NBC.
