Just ask world-renowned male model Tyson Beckford, whos teaching up-and-coming models the ins and outs of the beauty biz as host of the new Bravo reality series, Make Me A Supermodel.
And as a 15-year vet of the industry, Tyson cant believe how easy todays models have it compared to when he was coming up in the 90s.
With more opportunities to break into the business, Beckford says models have less drive and determination than they used to.
He explains, I see kids who are just starting out complaining about the clothes they have to wear during a shoot. And Im shocked because when I was first starting out, you couldve given me a thong and some heels and told me to walk down 42nd Street in New York and I wouldve been like, Okay, Ill be right there! You have to want it, because theres always someone around the corner waiting to take your job from you.
But nagging models competing in Beckfords new show will get no mercy from him.
He says, Im going to be hard on them because they have to stay humble and appreciate this opportunity. Wait til I get my hands on them Im laying down the law!
Make Me A Supermodel debuts January 10 on Bravo.
