Frozen Turkey Turns Seventeen

TAMPA, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A man in Tampa, Florida, is throwing a big birthday bash for his frozen bird.

On Saturday (Dec. 1), software installer Adam Yahre is hosting a birdbrained birthday party for his 17-year-old frozen turkey named Tom, and it’s going to be a groovy, gobbling affair.

Yahre is honoring his 12-pound turkey with a chilled out Woodstock-style concert he’s calling Turkey Fest, where Tom will rock out in a retro tie-dye T-shirt.

He says, “We take him out of the freezer and dress him up, and everyone takes pictures with him. It’s a good excuse to have a party.”

But if you’re wondering what to get a cold cut for his birthday, Yahre says Tom, who was the ring bearer at Yahre’s wedding, likes cranberry sauce and giblets, but that most of his pals get him cards.

And this Christmas, the frigid friend will be one gobbler saved from a stuffing.

Yahre says, “We’ve never considered eating Tom. If anyone ate him, bad things would happen. He’s very much part of the family.”
