Matt Lauer Watches Macy’s Parade Through His Kids’ Eyes

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Today show anchor Matt Lauer is getting into the holiday spirit by taking some cues from his kids.

Lauer, who has hosted the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on NBC for several years, will be co-hosting the New York City procession again this Thanksgiving (Nov. 22), and says he’ll watch the parade with a genuinely cheery outlook due to some innocent influence from his kids, Jack and Romy.

Lauer says, “I’ve watched the parade for years but my view on it changed completely when I had kids. I was kind of jaded about it until I watched my kids’ reactions to the parade. When I took my kids to Herald Square and saw their faces, I remembered how special it actually is!”

And this year, with new stars like High School Musical’s Ashley Tisdale and Corbin Blue joining the parade, and new balloon additions like Shrek and Hello Kitty, Lauer is getting schooled on what’s cool for the upcoming parade by his four and six-year-old.

Lauer adds, “My kids just watched High School Musical for the first time and they know all the characters. They could also pick Hannah Montana out from a line up. They’re looking foward to seeing their new favorite stars at the parade!”
