‘Scrubs’ Crew Keeps Zach Braff Grounded

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Scrubs star Zach Braff has branched out and made it big in Hollywood over the past few years, but that’s never stopped his TV sitcom cast from keeping him in check.

In addition to starring on Scrubs for all seven seasons, Braff has appeared in films like The Last Kiss, and his self-directed hit, Garden State, but says no matter how much silver screen success he has, his Scrubs family knows how to keep him grounded.

A few years ago, after Braff sold Garden State at Sundance, he came back to work on the Scrubs set only to find that series creator Bill Lawrence and the cast weren’t about to give him any special movie director treatment.

Says Braff: “Selling Garden State was the biggest moment in my career, but Bill and the Scrubs crew didn’t want me to get too cocky. So my first day back I had to shoot a scene wearing full clown make-up. The Janitor [Neil Flynn] then hosed me down with a sea of seltzer spray. Everyone was laughing and applauding from the sidelines. It was real sweet of them.”

Scrubs airs Thursdays on NBC.
