‘Lost’ Villain Terrifies Teenagers

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – For actor Michael Emerson, scaring the suspicious survivors on Lost is a power that follows him onto the mainland.

Emerson plays the mysterious villain Ben Linus on the small-screen smash Lost, but off the island, the actor’s creepy character lands him in some scary situations.

Emerson says, “Some people just plain scream when they see me! Kids in shops, or on the sidewalk, and a lot of teenage girls, but sometimes very mature people too.”

And while Emerson delights in fans’ support of his chilling character, he hasn’t used his spooky screen persona for any evil deeds, and instead tries to diffuse any bizarre situations his villainous alter ego gets him into.

He says, “I try to make the moment as light as I can. I haven’t thought to employ it in the real world. That’s the time it wouldn’t work, and the person would end up laughing in my face.”

Season four of Lost premieres early next year.
