Richards who has been hosting the social makeover show for three seasons says he feels perfectly comfortable helping geeky guys and shallow gals change their ways, especially because he used to be a geek himself.
Richards admits, I was such a geek in high school, it was ridiculous! I was barely five feet tall which definitely didnt help me with the ladies and I wore braces, glasses, and ill-fitting clothes. I relate to the guys on Beauty and the Geek because geeks are my people!
And although Richards dweeby days are long gone, the contestants on the show still sense the true geek in him once in a while.
He explains, When I walk onto the set I have my regular clothes on and my hair isnt done, so I dont look too hip. Ive had contestants spot me before taping and theyre like, Mike, youre one of us! Its hilarious.
Season four of Beauty and the Geek premieres September 18 on The CW.
