Constantine Maroulis’ Music Inspired By A Stolen T-Shirt

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Ladies, if you’ve ever stolen an ex-boyfriend’s T-shirt, you may want to give it back before you end up in one of Constantine Maroulis’ songs.

Maroulis – best known as the sexy, smoldering, American Idol alum from season four – is releasing his self-titled debut album Tuesday (Aug 7), and admits one of his favorite songs on the record was inspired by a thieving girlfriend.

His song “My Favorite T-Shirt,” is about a relationship that didn’t work out, and how an ex-girlfriend ends up stealing her ex’s favorite T-shirt after the breakup, and Maroulis says the song was written from his own experiences.

Says Maroulis: “I had an old girlfriend in college that stole my favorite T-shirt and it sucked. I just thought it was time to write a funny, self-deprecating song sort of based on that experience.”

Maroulis eventually got over the T-shirt robbery, but he still believes most guys will be able to relate to the song and laugh about pick-pocketing partners.

He jokes, “Having your favorite shirt stolen is like being a kid on the playground who gets his ball stolen from him. It’s just not cool!”
