Stan Lee Sees The World’s Craziest Superheroes

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Comic book mastermind Stan Lee has created some of the world’s greatest superheroes, but even he comes across his share of truly bizarre characters sometimes.

Lee is producing and starring in Sci-Fi Channel’s reality series, Who Wants To Be A Superhero?, where he’ll search for the world’s next great superhero to immortalize into a comic book character, but Lee found some truly crazy hero wannabes during auditions for the show.

Lee recalls a man who channeled his inner superhero by wearing a costume made out of a giant balloon that covered everything but his legs, and a woman who “bared her breasts” for a spot on the reality series.

Says Lee: “People came into the auditions with the most extreme-looking costumes and made up ridiculous superpowers. It was hilarious, but sometimes the people were just too much – even for me!”

Lee says most of the hero hopefuls fell into the categories of “very heroic, clown-like, or sidekicks,” but he’s happy with the top 10 finalists he ultimately chose to duke it out for immortality.

He adds, “The world could always use a superhero and these guys take their duties seriously!”

Season two of Who Wants To Be A Superhero? premieres July 26th on the Sci-Fi Channel.
