James Lipton Has No Time For Parodies

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – James Lipton is seriously inspired by movie stars, but movie stars are hilariously inspired by him.

As the stoic host of Bravo’s Inside the Actor’s Studio, Lipton has grilled over 200 stars, but he’s also had to get used to being roasted by comedy giants.

Speaking about Will Ferrell’s priceless parody on Saturday Night Live, Lipton says, “He’s my hero. I think it’s hilarious, he had me down cold.”

Other funny men to bite Lipton’s monotonous manner for a few laughs include Dave Chappelle and David Cross, but with his hectic 14-hour days, Lipton admits he doesn’t have time to keep up with everyone who is spoofing him.

Says Lipton: “I’m a bit of a recluse, just watching movies all day and preparing for my show.”

But being such a film fanatic doesn’t just affect his funny bone, it also affects his marriage.

He adds, “The last time I saw a film just for enjoyment was a year ago, when my wife said, ‘For God’s sake, Jim, let’s go to a movie!”’

Lipton receives a Lifetime Achievement Award from The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences June 14.
