Enterprising Englishman Sells ‘Star Trek’ Replica Home

MIDLANDS, U.K. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – An enterprising Star Trek fan in Midlands, England, is going boldly where few Trekkies have gone before: He’s turned his home into a replica of the U.S.S. Enterprise and selling it for $850,000.

Sci-Fi enthusiast Tony Alleyne has spent the last eight years of his life turning the interior of his 375-square-foot apartment into an exact replica of the ship from the shows Star Trek: The Next Generation and Voyager.

Alleyne went on his interior design trek as a form of therapy after his divorce in 1994, and while the project was fun, the Trekkie shrine left him legally bankrupt after he maxed out 14 credit cards redecorating in the process.

However, Alleyne’s trek is finally paying off, as he just sold his home on Ebay last Thursday (May 10), for a whopping $850,000.

Says Alleyne: “The buyer isn’t a Star Trek fan but that’s alright. Just as long as he doesn’t change anything in it and uses it to entertain guests and make people smile, I’m happy.”

Alleyne plans on using the cash to continue designing homes and possibly build a Star Wars themed home in the future and –what else? – “Live long, and prosper.”
