Pinewood Motel Owners To America: ‘We Aren’t Psycho Killers

’ SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Luke Wilson and Kate Beckinsale make a big mistake when they check into the Pinewood Motel in the horror flick Vacancy, but real Pinewood Motel owners across America want people to know they aren’t cold-blooded killers.

David Alen owns the Pinewood Motel in Siren, Wisconsin, and he claims he’s been bombarded with concerned phone calls ever since the movie’s release.

Says Alen: “I’ve had lots people call asking if I kill people or if there’s cameras in the room – I just tell them to chill out and go watch the movie again and stop bugging me.”

Donna Mathias also owns a Pinewood Motel in Skowhegan, Maine, and she has no plans to check out the movie – mainly because she’s mad producers didn’t consult her about the name of the creepy on-screen motel before filming.

As she puts it, “I know it’s not trademarked or anything but it doesn’t make me happy that people are afraid to come here now – we’ve been in business since 1955.”

To put people’s minds at ease, both motels are offering Beckinsale and Wilson a night in one of their rooms to finally prove there’s nothing to fear.
