David Alen owns the Pinewood Motel in Siren, Wisconsin, and he claims hes been bombarded with concerned phone calls ever since the movies release.
Says Alen: Ive had lots people call asking if I kill people or if theres cameras in the room I just tell them to chill out and go watch the movie again and stop bugging me.
Donna Mathias also owns a Pinewood Motel in Skowhegan, Maine, and she has no plans to check out the movie mainly because shes mad producers didnt consult her about the name of the creepy on-screen motel before filming.
As she puts it, I know its not trademarked or anything but it doesnt make me happy that people are afraid to come here now weve been in business since 1955.
To put peoples minds at ease, both motels are offering Beckinsale and Wilson a night in one of their rooms to finally prove theres nothing to fear.
