‘Dancing’ Contestant Gets Majority Vote In North Dakota

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey isn’t relying on hometown votes to secure her a win on this season of Dancing With The Stars.

That’s because Finnessey grew up in the small town of Deering, North Dakota, which only has 100 residents.

Says Finnessey: “My mom just called me and said she put up a memo in the town’s restaurant-slash-grocery store saying I was on the show – I was like, ‘Well, I know I have at least 20 votes now!”’

Despite this, Finnessey isn’t too worried about getting votes and says her strategy is to “just have fun out on the dance floor.”

As she puts it, “I haven’t gotten to train as much as everyone else since I’m filming two game shows during the week. I heard Ian Ziering has been practicing 10 hours a day, so I have a lot of catching up to do!”

She continues: “I’m just going to go out there and have a good time and do my best.”

Dancing With The Stars premieres March 19 on ABC.
