Forest Whitaker’s Acceptance Speech Wins A Booby Prize

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Forest Whitaker may have won a Golden Globe for his performance in The Last King Of Scotland, but his acceptance speech this past Monday (Jan. 15) deserves a booby prize.

That’s the opinion of Erica Beth Keller, a spokeswoman for Media Training Worldwide, who says Whitaker missed a prime opportunity to “showcase his brilliance, not just as an actor, but as a real person.”

Keller also gives low marks to Martin Scorsese, who made the error of wasting the time allotted for his acceptance speech by mentioning he only had a certain amount of time.

Some Golden Globes winners did have acceptance speeches that deserved awards themselves such as Jennifer Hudson, who Keller says gave a speech that “was genuine and touching.”

As she puts it, “You can always tell if someone is giving a good speech when the camera pans on audience members who are crying.”
