Erik Estrada Cops To Wanting To Stay A Reserve Police Officer

MUNCIE, Indiana (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Erik Estrada played a cop on CHiPs, but he prefers doing the job for real.

Estrada is one of five celebrities who trained to be reserve officers in Muncie, Indiana, for the new CBS series, Armed And Famous.

He says it has fulfilled a lifelong dream to be a police officer, and has appreciated the opportunity to go out on stings.

Estrada avoids using a gun as much as possible, but says he’s thrilled by the reaction he’s received from Muncie’s citizens and his fellow cops.

Armed And Famous debuts next Wednesday (Jan. 10) and while taping for the series is winding down, Estrada plans to continue working with Muncie’s finest in at least some fashion.

As he puts it, “I probably won’t move to Muncie, but I will visit every December to participate in their ‘Shop With A Cop’ program, and whenever I’m invited.”
