Scented Tires Will Have You Burning Lavender, Not Rubber

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Guys, if you’re looking for a last- minute Christmas gift for your lady, then scented tires could be the way to her heart – and nose.

Believe it or not, KUMHOM Tire USA has just made the world’s first perfumed automotive tires made for Honda Accords, Toyota Camrys and Subaru Outbacks.

Spokesman Mark Bouffard says scented jasmine and lavender oil is put directly into the rubber of the tires during manufacturing so the scent lasts as long as your tires do.

Says Bouffard: “The scent stays for about 60,000 miles and make your garage smell delicious.”

He says the smell persists while you drive, but it isn’t overwhelming adding, “You’ll be burning lavender instead of rubber.”

Bouffard speculates the lavender tires could get women more involved with car maintenance, with the smell prompting women to change their own tires.

The company plans to add more aroma-tires for women and also specially scented tires for men.

Bouffard says, “The men we’ve surveyed want their tires to smell like popcorn and hot dogs. We’re working on it.”
