‘Tonight Show’ Regular Wasn’t Always A Leno Lover

TAMPA, Fla. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Jay Leno may be an outspoken late night show host, but one regular on his show isn’t afraid to stand up to Leno himself.

That’s the word from 96 year-old Marie Rudisill, who as “The Fruitcake Lady” is a regular guest on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.

Rudisill enlightens viewers, and Leno himself, with her no- nonsense advice on topics like sex and manners.

But Rudisill says she wasn’t always friendly with Leno.

Says Rudisill: “When Jay and I first met we argued up some kind of terrible! We argued about a fruitcake because he said fruitcakes were horrible. I was furious with his comment and argued the truth – that fruitcakes are wonderful.”

Rudisill’s argument with Leno earned her respect from the host and now she’s even got her own book, Ask The Fruitcake Lady (Hyperion), which comes out next month.

Rudisill expects the advice in her book will help people in their everyday lives “be smarter.”

She adds: “The best advice is to be tolerant and listen to people.”
