New Children’s Book Paints Picture Of Parental Tattoos

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A New York artist is hoping his new children’s book paints tattooed parents in a new light.

Phil Padwe is the author of Mommy Has A Tattoo (MommyHasTattoos), which details the story about a boy named James who gets freaked out when he sees his inked-up neighbor.

However, he soon mellows out when his Mommy shows that she too has a tattoo – one of those lower back tattoos commonly referred to as a “tramp stamp.”

Padwe was inspired to ink up the story because he knows lots of painted parents who get strange looks from other adults.

Still, he thinks that stigma will change because “... in the next ten years, there will be more parents who are tattooed than not.”

The book has only been available for a couple of weeks but Padwe is thrilled by the response from schoolteachers and librarians.

Now, he’s working on a sequel where two kids discuss their dads’ tats and whether they got them because they were sailors or bikers.
