Thats the word from Smash Mouth guitarist Greg Camp, who says having lead singer Steve Harwell living in Las Vegas, drummer Jason Stutter in Los Angeles and himself and bassist Paul DeLisle in Santa Cruz, California, has helped the band keep their sanity and stay together for the last twelve years.
As he puts it, By the end of recording an album we are at each others throats but then we tour and realize why we started doing this.
Camp says they have faced their share of hurdles over the years, including the departure of two drummers.
Despite these obstacles, the guys still come together before shows.
Says Camp: We still do that whole guy fist-to-fist thing before a show but only knuckle-to-knuckle before an acoustic set because its a little less rock n roll.
Camp will have a little bit more alone time before the band hits the road their latest tour has been postponed so Harwell can recover from back surgery.
