Self-Proclaimed Infiltrator Outed By Joan Rivers And Cher

SAN FRANCISCO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A self-proclaimed “infiltrative journalist” has turned tricking people into an art form, but even he couldn’t get past Cher and Joan Rivers.

Harmon Leon has managed to convince people he was a teen abstinence educator who uses mime to get his message across and a fake cripple who gets magically healed at a faith-healing extravaganza.

But one time he was caught in the act at a celebrity impersonator’s convention pretending to be Austin Powers when he was cornered by a fake Joan Rivers and Cher.

Says Leon: “They definitely know their stuff – I didn’t have my costume right and my blonde wig tipped them off.”

He says the two faux divas made him give up his wig and told him “This isn’t Halloween.” One even admonished him: “Mike Myers would not appreciate this.”

Despite that setback, Leon won’t stop being an imposter. In fact, he’s currently trying to infiltrate a fake Iraqi village set up near Palm Springs, California, that trains soldiers headed for the Middle East.

Leon is the author of a new book, The Infiltrator (Prometheus Books).
