Mars Offers M&Ms In Return For ‘The Scream’

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Today (Aug. 22) marks the second anniversary of the day thieves stole Edvard Munch’s famous painting The Scream from the Munch Museum in Oslo, Norway.

Although there’s been a monetary reward offered for its return, the folks at the Mars candy company are sweetening the pot – with M&Ms.

According to M&M’s spokesperson Marlene Machut, the company plans on rewarding 2 million dark chocolate M&M’s to the person who recovers the painting in one piece.

That’s a lot of bags – about 40,000 to be exact – but Machut says the person who recovers The Scream can choose whether they want them in one lump sum or through coupons.

As she puts it, “It’s about $22,000 worth of candy so we are willing to transport it however they like or desire.”
