Alice Cooper Talks About Smelly Rock Stars On Radio Show

INDIANAPOLIS (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Alice Cooper made his name as the godfather of “shock rock” back in the 1970s, but today he says the most shocking stories from those days may be about how smelly some of the other rock stars were.

According to Cooper – who currently hosts a radio show called Nights With Alice Cooper five nights a week – there’s “nothing more fun than knocking a rock star off his pedestal” on his show.

In Cooper’s words, “Take a guy like Jim Morrison: wrote great songs, the girls loved him; but you could smell the guy coming a block away.”

Cooper adds: “Those leathers he wore could have stood up in the corner all by themselves.”

But Cooper says he was pretty bad himself, too, laughing: “If someone lit a match around Morrison, or Jimi Hendrix or myself, we’d have all gone up in flames.”

Alice Cooper is currently on a tour of the States, which wraps up August 24 in Detroit.
