Rapper Calls Britney Spears ‘Ugly,’ But Means No Disrespect

BROOKYLN, N.Y. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – A Brooklyn-based rapper insists he means no disrespect to pop princess Britney Spears, even though he point-blank calls her ugly in his new song, “Black Princess.”

The rapper calls himself “Bookman” and says he didn’t set out to make fun of Spears when he penned lyrics, but the lines India.Arie, you are so sweet and lovely/ Britney Spears you are ugly,” make it hard to believe he didn’t intentionally mean to make to target the superstar.

Instead, Bookman says he’s using Spears as a metaphor and wants the song to focus on the beauty of black women like India.Arie and Serena Williams because they get less press then Spears or Anna Kournikova.

Now, he’s backing away from his ugly comments and says, “Britney Spears is beautiful, too – I mean she’s at the top of her career right now.”

The song doesn’t just target the Pop Tart. Bookman also talks trash about Kobe Bryant with the line, I don’t chase white women like Kobe.

He admits he has gotten some anonymous hate mail since the song debuted, but not from any of the celebrities he’s dissed.
