Songwriter Still Needs Paul McCartney Now That He’s Turning 64

WHITTIER, Calif. (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Back in 1967, Paul McCartney asked the musical question, Will you still need me/ Will you still feed me/ When I’m 64?

Now that McCartney is actually turning 64 on Sunday (Jun. 18), a songwriter in Los Angeles has decided to give him an answer.

Bruce Baert has just penned a birthday ballad to the “Cute Beatle” called “Paul McCartney Is Sixty- Four” that is set to the tune of “When I’m 64.”

Some of the sample lines include: Let’s send Paul a card, drop him a line/ A ’42 bottle of wine/ When you wrote ‘64’ back in the day/ Did you know your 64th was on Father’s Day?

Amazingly, Baert needed four months to write the tribute, mainly because he kept getting writer’s block.

It didn’t help that McCartney’s life has been a tabloid roller-coaster ride lately with the pending divorce from his current wife Heather Mills; Baert says he decided to rewrite parts of the song after he heard the news.

Says Baert: “It’s sad that they aren’t together and I have to admit, I thought he would be spending his 64th birthday with her.”
