‘Average Joe’ Builds Airline One Buck At A Time

SAN DIEGO (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – It sounds “plane” crazy but a 28-year-old man in San Diego wants to build a new airline one buck at a time.

Mike Quintana is creating a non-profit airline called People’s Air and hopes to raise $1.2 million by having 1.2 million people each chip in a dollar.

The initial investment will cover the cost of a single turbo propeller plane that would fly out of Las Vegas, San Francisco and Phoenix.

He believes the new airline will be so cheap it will force other airlines to lower their rates.

Quintana came up with the idea while working as a delivery driver when he decided that starting a new airline would be more fun than becoming a pilot.

He’s been trolling the internet looking for investors but, so far, Quintana has only raised $1500 for his fly-by-night idea, mostly from friends and family.

Still, he’s so confident the upstart airline will take off that he’s already planning to donate any surplus funds to environmental groups.
