Former ‘American Idol’ Host Now Spills Beans On Blog

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Brian Dunkleman hasn’t been seen much since he was the original cohost of American Idol, but he’s not remaining idle.

Now he’s returning to the scene of his former glory – sort of.

Dunkleman is now doing a blog for, a website where folks pick which contestants will be kicked off the show.

Dunkleman left the show after the first season because he didn’t like “watching kids have their dreams crushed.”

He says he doesn’t mind commenting on the show now because “now, the kids know what the show is about and what they’re setting themselves up for.”

Dunkleman figures Idol blog will provide an inside view of what goes on during the show and hints that things like the arguments between Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson are “B.S. to create controversy” and adds sarcastically, “Everything on reality television is totally real.”

Dunkleman says he can’t confirm rumors that Abdul was involved with Justin Guarini during the first season, but jokes he’d like to start another website, “” to pick which male singers she likes most.
